Detailed instructions on how to setup Smart AI FIPS 140-2 options in PowerArchiver. The SmartAI options handle FIPS 140-2, Smart Skins, Touch Mode, Power Saving options and Gestures.

1.0 Introduction

PowerArchiver features SmartAI automated configuration which will provide several options that correctly set all the relevant Windows settings and will provide a notice if those settings are not set. Here, you will find the detailed instructions on how to setup Smart AI FIPS 140-2 mode in PowerArchiver.

Smart AI FIPS 140-2 Mode options

Smart AI FIPS 140-2 options can be configured the Smart AI section of the configuration menu. There, you will find the FIPS mode option with a dropdown menu and the below options:

  • Auto (SmartAI) – PowerArchiver will detect if your Windows installation is set to use FIPS 140-2 mode and if so, it will automatically activate FIPS 140-2 mode in PowerArchiver.
  • On – When you set FIPS 140-2 mode to On, PowerArchiver will activate itself into FIPS 140-2 mode, and check if FIPS 140-2 is enabled in Windows – If it is not, it will ask you if you want to enable it and will automatically enable this setting in Windows.
  • Force FIPS 140-2 mode – This option will make PowerArchiver check at each startup if everything is properly set, and if not it will give you an option to set it through PowerArchiver. A FIPS status bar icon will appear in the lower right corner of PowerArchiver, indicating whether PowerArchiver is FIPS 140-2 compliant.
  • Off – FIPS is disabled and not used in anyway. This is a recommended mode for users not needing FIPS 140-2 compliance.

Smart AI PowerSave options

  • On – Selecting On will switch PowerArchiver the Power Saving mode and PowerArchiver will reduce its power usage to conserve battery/power.
  • Off – Selecting Off will keep the Power Saving mode off and keep it off until changed.
  • Auto(SmartAI) – When Selected, SmartAI will detect that your laptop is on battery and when you battery level is low, it will turn on Power Saving mode in PowerArchiver, where PowerArchiver will reduce its power usage to minimum to conserve battery.

Smart AI Touch Mode options

  • On – Choosing option On will turn on Touch mode in PowerArchiver and Touch mode will always remain On.
  • Off – Choosing option Off will turn on Touch mode in PowerArchiver and Touch mode will always remain Off.
  • Auto(SmartAI) – Choosing this option will turn Touch mode On if you are using PowerArchiver on a computer with a touch screen display and will turn it off when switching to a non touch screen display.

Smart AI Skins Options

  • Dark Skin – When selected, PowerArchiver will always use the Windows 10 Dark skin
  • Light Skin – When selected, PowerArchiver will always use the Windows 10 Light skin
  • Off – When selected, PowerArchiver will always use the skin selected in the Skins options.
  • Auto Windows 10 – When selected, PowerArchiver will automatically use the dark skin if you switch to Windows dark mode. When you go back to Windows light mode, PowerArchiver will also switch to the Windows 10 Light skin.

Gestures

PowerArchiver has great support for Gestures. You can swipe around the interface intuitively with many PowerArchiver actions available. Gestures are completely customizable and you can set them up as you want and assign gestures as you please. Below are the options and actions you may customize and set for use of Gestures in PowerArchiver;

  • Gestures On/Off toggle – In order to use Gestures in PowerArchiver, please set the Gestures toggle to On and you may proceed to customizing/setting your own gestures.
  • Gestures - This is a dropdown menu with various gestures that can be set for various actions. Click the dropdown menu and select a Gesture that you would like to set an action to.
  • Action - Click the Action dropdown to set an action to be performed by PowerArchiver for the Gesture chosen in the Gestures section.
  • Add Gesture - After selecting a Gesture and an Action assigned to it, Click Add Gesture to add the Gesture to the above list of active gestures in PowerArchiver. If you happen to add a Gesture that has already been added and is in the list of Gestures already, you will receive an error message. Simply remove the Gesture from the list of added Gestures by selecting it and clicking the Remove Gesture button.
  • Remove Gesture - To remove a Gesture from the list of active Gestures, click the added Gesture in the list above and click the Remove Gesture button.
