To manipulate an existing archive file on your hard disk, you must first open the archive.
From the PowerArchiver „File“ Menu, select the „Open Archive“ option. You can also do this by clicking on the „Open“ button in the toolbar. You will see a standard Windows dialog box.
Navigate to the folder where you installed PowerArchiver (the default folder is C:\Program Files\PowerArchiver). You should now see a listing of files that includes TUTOR1.ZIP. Highlight the file, TUTOR1.ZIP and press the „Open“ button. The open dialog closes and you are returned to the main PowerArchiver screen.
You should now see a listing of the four files contained within the TUTOR1.ZIP archive file. The file information listing shows the name of the file, date and timestamp, uncompressed (size) and compressed (packed) size of the file, file compression ratio and the file path.
This tutorial approaches the topic using the main PowerArchiver window as its base of operations. Classic interface is used to explain basic usage - if you are using Modern interface, you can change it to Classic interface by going to the Options tab and clicking on the Interface icon.
